Bayern Munich are in danger of crashing out of the Champions League after a particularly toothless performance in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Lazio.

The German giants failed to land a single shot on target in the entire match in the last-16 first-leg clash in Rome. Thanks to a second-half penalty from Ciro Immobile, the Italian hosts went on to claim a vital win, seeing Bayern lose the first leg of a round-of-16 tie for the first time in 11 seasons. This was also the first time Die Roten have lost to an Italian side in Europe for 13 years.

The tame performance against Lazio comes days after Bayern were beaten 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. They managed just one effort on target in that game as they fell five points behind Xabi Alonso's shock league leaders.
