Streamlining a Diablo 4 build so that it only requires a few button presses to succeed is a tough task on its own, given the complexity of some classes’ skill trees. While Diablo 4 Season 10 has a great one-button build for players, some may want to get kills by simply existing in the world of Sanctuary. For players who want to passively deal high amounts of damage to enemies, one Barbarian build can do just that, and it requires very few pieces to become a powerhouse.
Diablo 4 Season 10 has been a dream for players looking to try unconventional builds, thanks to the shake-up to buildcrafting that new features like Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks bring. As such, builds that have been borderline unusable in the past have the potential to be meta contenders in the Season of Infernal Chaos. The Dust Devil Barbarian has never been one of the class’s stronger builds, but gets a particular boon in Season 10 that makes it a monstrosity simply by wandering around the map.
Diablo 4 Season 10 Dust Devil Barbarians Can Get Kills Without Lifting a Finger
In past Diablo 4 seasons, the Barbarian’s Dust Devil builds were mediocre at best, largely relying on the power of Whirlwind with the Dust Devil’s Aspect and Devilish Aspect to spawn Dust Devils that deal AoE damage to enemies caught in them. The triggers for these Dust Devils are somewhat limited, with the Dust Devil’s Aspect only spawning them when Whirlwind is used, and the Devilish Aspect only after the Barbarian generates 100 fury. However, this version of the Dust Devil Barbarian’s build shifts focus from these Legendary Aspects onto the Aspect of Fierce Winds, which causes the Barbarian’s Shouts to create Dust Devils when activated.
How to Set Up This S-Tier Barbarian Build
- Aspect of Fierce Winds
- Deafening Chorus Legendary Chaos Perk
The core of this build revolves around the Barbarian’s Shouts triggering the Aspect of Fierce Winds and summoning 3 Dust Devils whenever a Shout is activated. To support this playstyle, Diablo 4 Season 10 Barbarians will want to invest in several Shout skills, including:
- War Cry
- Challenging Shout
- Rallying Cry
Typically, Barbarians want to use Shouts to support their offensive skills; War Cry increases damage output and grants Berserking, Challenging Shout increases damage reduction, and Rallying Cry increases movement speed and resource generation in addition to granting Unstoppable. However, with this build, Shouts become more than just supporting skills and are instead used as the primary trigger for the Barbarian’s damage as well.
Chaos Perks Make a Passive Dust Devil Barbarian Build Possible in Diablo 4 Season 10
Instead of having to wait for the cooldowns on the Barbarian’s Shouts to end to spawn Dust Devils, utilizing the Deafening Chorus Legendary Chaos Perk in Diablo 4 Season 10 makes it so that these Shouts are always active. As a result, the Barbarian will be constantly spawning Dust Devils that can cover a wide area of the screen, perpetually damaging enemies. No longer do Barbarians have to worry about their skill rotation with Shouts, as they essentially become walking sandstorms with their Dust Devils destroying everything in their path without having to press any skill buttons.
The downside of using Deafening Chorus as a Chaos Perk is that it reduces the Barbarian’s Maximum Fury for each Shout equipped. However, this won’t matter much since the majority of the Barbarian’s damage will come from the Dust Devils, which don’t require Fury.
Of course, players can do more than simply exist with the build, adding in some active damaging skills to deal with tougher enemies like Lair Bosses and Uber Lilith. Whirlwind is a great choice for this build since it can utilize the Dust Devil’s Aspect to create even more Dust Devils for the build. Wrath of the Berserker is the Ultimate skill of choice for this build since it can deal massive damage while also granting the Barbarian Unstoppable and Berserking. These skills synergize with the Barbarian’s Dust Devils triggered by the persistent Shouts to create a passive-oriented playstyle that can turn offensive when needed—a first for the Diablo 4 class that is made possible by the addition of Chaos Perks.
